Benefits of a clean vehicle

While some people take pride in a spotless car, others see washing their vehicle as a thankless waste of time. But there are many benefits to a regular cleaning regime. The wax coat on your car protects the cars paint. If it’s not protected and replenished you could find your car in need of a costly re-spray. Things like bird droppings, bugs and tree sap should be removed quickly as these are acidic and can quickly strip the wax coat and attack the cars finish. Salt from road spray in winter exacerbates rusting so needs washing off as often as possible.
If you allow a heavy build up of dirt on your vehicle you’ll need to take extra care when washing as small particles and stones can scratch the paint during cleaning. Rinse the car with a pressure washer first, then wash with a soft cloth. Use two buckets- one for clean water to wash the car and one to rinse off the dirty cloth. When you rinse off the soap residue, take a moment to see if the water is “beading” off the car paint. If it’s not, you need a re-wax.
