Should dash cams be mandatory?

Over the last few years more and more people are choosing to use dash cams. Dash cams can be a great way to ensure that you have an extra set of eyes seeing and recording what’s happening on the road in front of you and may help out in the event of an accident to work out who was at fault.

There are so many incidents on our roads that it is important that people who repeatedly drive in an unsafe way get penalised for it and are forced to change their driving habits. Although Dash cams cannot prevent an immediate accident from happening it can record useful information which can be passed on to the DVLA or the police hoping that the person responsible will understand the risks they are posing and drive more carefully.

At present, Dash Cams are not mandatory but it may not be long before we start to see them installed in vehicles as standard or enforced that every car much have one fitted. If you drive carefully on the roads then there should be no reason why you should worry about dash cams, in fact everyone should be in favour of them to help reduce the number of unsafe and dangerous drivers on our roads.
