Buying a second hand car can be a worrying time especially if you are not going to be receiving a warranty. There is always an element of risk involved when buying a second hand car and many people worry about if it is going to be reliable and mechanically sound. It is easy to check body work, lights and listen to the engine etc but checking the mechanical components is often a more technical job and may require a mechanic.
Even with a mechanic looking over the car you still cannot guarantee that they will be able to pick up everything. Always try and drive a second hand car before buying it as often it is only when you buy a car that you find out if there is anything immediately wrong with it. Don’t be afraid to question suspicious noises.
Always do your research first by looking up old MOT’s online to see what work has been done and what may need doing in the future.
